ROLES

Product Designer

Led the full design process, coordinated with collaborators, and ensured the final solution aligned with both user expectations and project requirements.

UI UX Designer

Conducted user research, defined user flows, and designed a clear, accessible interface that respected the archival and cultural context.

GOALS

The exhibition was shaped around four core goals:

  • Preserve and promote the legacy of Greek art music through a modern digital experience.

  • Make archival material accessible to the public in an intuitive format.

  • Balance educational depth with simplicity, avoiding cognitive overload.

  • Enhance the visitor experience within the quiet, contemplative environment of the concert hall.

CONTENT STRATEGY

The content was carefully curated and structured to support both casual exploration and academic depth. Each screen was designed to be digestible, contextual, and visually coherent while respecting the source material.

The exhibit includes:

  • Seven featured composers: Marios Varvoglis, Manolis Kalomiris, Antiochos Evangelatos, Dimitris Dragatakis, Rena Kyriakou, Mikis Theodorakis, and Theodoros Antoniou

  • Biographical storytelling: timelines, key contributions, educational influences, and cultural context

  • Archival referencing: curated documents, source notes, and archival codes to support deeper research and historical credibility

CHALLENGES

Designing a museum experience around historical material required balancing respect for the subject matter with a contemporary, user-friendly interface.

Notable challenges:

  • Tone balance: attracting attention without diminishing the seriousness of the content

  • Tight deadlines: requiring rapid prototyping and continuous alignment across teams

  • Archival image quality: inconsistent or low-resolution materials that required extensive editing and layout adjustments

DESIGN PROCESS

The design process was iterative, shaped by rapid feedback loops and the constraints of working with historical material in a museum environment.

Discovery & Research

  • Defined core user journeys for museum visitors: curious explorers vs. in-depth researchers

  • Analyzed the spatial and behavioral constraints of touchscreen exhibits in low-light, quiet environments

CONTENT MAPPING & WIREFRAMING

Content Mapping & Wireframing

  • Created modular content layouts for biographical, contextual, and archival sections

  • Prototyped interactive flows and presented early screens to the museum team for feedback

  • Tested UI patterns for scroll vs. tap interactions in a large-screen/touch-first format

FINAL DELIVERY

Introducing
THE MUSEUM OF GREEK COMPOSERS
